A Charity Dinner was held at the Hythe Conservative Club on Saturday 30 August 2008 in support of The Colonels' Fund Grenadier Guards.
The dinner was organised by Mr Phil Lilley and the entertainment was provided by Natalie Ward, an excellent singer, saxophonist and all round entertainer.
Phil is pleased to announce that, along with the proceeds of two Golf Days he also organised, he was able to hand over a cheque for the sum of one thousand one hundred pounds. The cheque was gratefully received by Major Dennis Bradley, BEM who is the President of the East Kent Branch Grenadier Guards Association.
The Colonel's Fund Grenadier Guards is a sub-fund of The Relief in Need Charity which forms part of The Regimental and Battalion Charities of the Grenadier Guards, Registered Charity no. 1062257 which is raising funds to aid soldiers from the Grenadier Guards who have been injured as a result of recent operations; primarilly in Afghanistran and Iraq. The fund also aims to support the immediate families and dependants; especially of those who have been killed in action during these conflicts.
Phil would like to express his gratitude to all those who supported the dinner and the Golf Days. |
